JEE Main 2026 Registration: Eligibility & Application Dates

JEE Main 2026 will be conducted in two sessions: January and April 2026. The application for session 1 will start from November 2025. The applications will be available on the official website of NTA at jeemain.nta.nic.in. JEE Main 2026 Eligibility

1. Passing Year: Candidates who passed Class 12 in 2024 or 2025, or are appearing for the exam in 2026, are eligible to apply for JEE Main 2026 (any board).
2. Age Limit: There is no age restriction for appearing in the JEE Main exam.
3. Percentage Criteria: The 75% marks requirement does not apply to JEE Main; it is only applicable for JEE Advanced. Hence, any eligible candidate can apply.
4. Subjects: Applicants must have completed or be appearing for the 10+2 examination with core subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, for all programs (B.Tech, B.E., B.Arch, and B.Planning).
5. Nationality: JEE Main is open to Indian citizens as well as NRIs, PIOs, OCIs, and foreign nationals.

When are JEE Main 2026 Application forms available? 

The JEE Main exam is conducted in two sessions:  January and April. The candidates can appear for both sessions and can fill out the application separately or altogether based on their preference. The application for the January session begins in November, while for the April session it begins in February. The candidates are required to check the official notification on the NTA’s JEE website.

JEE Main 2026: Application Process

The detailed JEE Main 2026 application process is as follows:

Step 1: Log on to the official website of JEE at jeemain.nta.nic.in and find the tab “ new registration”.

Step 2: To register for the JEE Main 2026, fill out the contact information and other details, such as the Candidate’s Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Numbers, Email ID, and Security pin. 

Step 3: You will get an application number. Save it for future reference.

Step 4: Log in to the JEE Main 2026 application page using your application number, password, and security PIN.

Step 5: Fill out the application form, mentioning details such as exam city choice, course selected, language, etc.

Step 6: Upload the documents required as per the category chosen in the application form in the given size and format.

Step 7: Pay the fee as per the category.

Step 8: Submit the form and take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.

The list of documents required for the JEE Main 2026 application is as follows:

1. Class 10th Marksheet
2. Class 12th Marksheets
3. Category Certificate (if applicable, SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD)
4. PwD Certificate (if applicable)
5. AADHAR Card (for verification purposes)
6. Passport-sized Photograph ( as per the details mentioned in the official website)
7. Scanned copy of signature
8. Email ID and Mobile Number for communication
9. UDID card (for PwD candidates)

JEE Main 2026 Application Fees

Some Important Points to Note for JEE Main 2026 Application

1. Ensure that your photograph is clean and clear; blurry or dark images may result in application rejection.
2. Save your photo as ‘Photograph’ in JPG/JPEG format, and your signature as ‘Signature’.
3. Upload a scanned copy of your Class X certificate/marksheet, named ‘Class-X Certificate’, in PDF format with a file size of 10 KB to 300 KB.
4. If applicable, upload your PwD/PwBD certificate named ‘Disability Certificate’ in PDF format, which should be between 10 and 300 KB.
5. Please keep in mind that certain areas cannot be altered during the correction time, so double-check all of your information before submitting it.
6. Uploading inaccurate or invalid documents may lead to fines.
7. To ensure a seamless upload, use an up-to-date browser and an uninterrupted internet connection.
